[personal profile] cincoflex  is hosting the 2012 Fandom_BL Marvel Edition!  Go forth and return burdened with horrible sentences!

[info]its_always_been (a Tony/Pepper comm) is having a cliché challenge, with twenty-five choices.

Should I be embarrassed that I've already done eight of them?  Plus one with Cincoflex

*is amused*

I don't think I've ever so much as picked up an Iron Man comic book in my life--I was completely uninterested in the character before the previews for the first movie showed up. So I've never seen this image before (courtesy of this Tumblr):

--but it fits Ch. 15 of Green Laurel perfectly.

I am amused.  :P

[livejournal.com profile] laura27md took me out for dinner tonight, and one of the waiters was practically a dead ringer for Tony Stark.  *laughter*  As she said, it was a good thing he wasn't our waiter, because our composure could not have been kept.

Dinner was delicious, too!

Alas, in my less than humble opinion the novelization didn't live up to its early promise.  Far too much of it wasn't in the film at all; I understand why it's done, but it makes it more of an alternate history than an actual narration.  Also, I think the differences are in favor of the film--but then, it is an intensely visual movie.

There are other changes, but I won't spoil.

I have only just begun reading the novelization of Iron Man 2, but so far it is substantially better than the last one, even as it deviates widely from what was shown on screen.  It's also extremely funny in places.  I'm treating it like more than decent fanfiction, if you will.

To wit: Tony was in some ways a delicate flower.  Pepper had learned to keep him watered and positioned so the sun hit him in the right ways.  How can you not love that?  XD

Much as I enjoy Iron Man 2, my inspiration stemming from it has been slow and not very, well, inspiring, despite a delightful new pairing.

Until this morning, when a chance phrase from the movie bloomed with awful vigor in my brain.  It's virus time, folks.  Hope with me that the fever doesn't break soon.

io9's take on 38 Reasons Why Iron Man is Cooler than Darth Vader.  I don't agree with all of them, but they made me laugh!

I just heard music from the Iron Man soundtrack in a Victoria's Secret ad. *twitch*

Tony would undoubtedly approve.

Did you know you can purchase a boxed arc reactor replica? Just as if Pepper gave it to you...
