It was almost like old times, Sara thought. Catherine had littered the lab with decorations and the battered artificial tree was back in the lobby, sparkling bravely. There were cookies on the breakroom table and a generally festive air throughout.
Greg had been especially enthralled by the season, and had been pressing candy canes on all and sundry for two days. However, his celebratory plans had been abruptly altered--
“What happened to Sanders’ mistletoe hat?” Brass asked her.
Sara grinned. “Ray threatened to kiss him under it.”
It wasn’t often one saw Jim helpless with laughter; Sara savored every moment.
