I am currently reading both Persuasion and The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress, depending on where I am when I want to read a bit. This conjunction is more than a bit odd. I want to sit Austen down and tell her to show, not tell, and I want to smack Heinlein with a trout for considering the female gender an alien species (which is an intermittent problem with him). I think the borderline pedophilia bothers me more, though.

Despite never having read either book, I feel I can confidently predict the outcome of both. That has more to do with the style than the plotlines.
