It is oddly quiet here except for the occasional gust of wind flinging snow against the window.  No traffic sounds; serious snow always does that.  It's a perfect day for curling up with cats and tea. 

Unfortunately, I really do need to go out in it, to the post office and to get cat food.  I should have last night, but I was far too tired and nothing was wrapped.  Well, it still isn't, but I have a few hours yet. 

Fortunately, the buses do seem to be running.  I can go all the way to my parents' neighborhood and get the grocery store and post office with just a gas station between them, rather than my own neighborhood where I'd have to climb a hill and go to one of the weird stores. 

Good thing I got those boots after all.

Protein and fat - if they're cold and hungry, they probably won't be too picky about what you put out for them. Anything is better than nothing in these circumstances.

Oh, sure, but I have my pride. *grin* I did slog down the hill to the store and back--didn't even get cold. My new snow boots proved their worth.
