Okay, I laughed

Stream-of-consciousness about Home for the Holidays.

I always have trouble with Holly Hunter.  She's not distinctive enough somehow.

I'd swear that was a local airport!

The father is a delight, though.

My overarching impression so far is that I am grateful that I love going home for holidays because I get along with my family.  We have fun together.  We don't have this sort of annoyance.

That said, the parents are adorable together, they really are.

The mom smokes WAY too much.

Okay, why don't they have their headlights on?

WHAT on EARTH happened to the mother's hair?

Please, please, somebody give him a haircut.

Okay, I can believe he's high.

Forget the haircut.  Make him eat the camera.

I guess the time is right for nobody to have cellphones...

The prom queen isn't real.  She can't be.

Make him eat SEVERAL cameras.  Or possibly the car's bumper.

Gotta give the script points for the double entendres.

M&Ms in a Key lime pie?

Celery!  XD

She'd be better off with her boss.  Ew.

Froot Loops!  Heee!

I don't know where they are, but it's not around here.  Jack in the Box, indeed.

Aunt Gladys (?) is...inspired.

"You broke my mommy!"  *snerrrrk*

That little girl is just WRONG.

The sister/brother dynamic is terrific, though.

Ooh!  Secret room!  Very cool.

Why on earth is he washing the car?

Well, well, that was BWI.

Enormous TV?  How things change.  :P

Ow ow ow, DON'T let this guy sing!

White Tower.  Is that trying to be White Castle?  I don't think I've ever seen a White Castle.  Plus the cigarette machine in the background.

Please don't let her end up with this twit.  There is no chemistry between them and...ew, he just kissed her.

Nice glare.

Ew, EW, they're necking again.  Bleagh!

Yes, PLEASE, be smart.

Hah, liquids on a plane.  Things DO change.

Not bad, not bad.  Normally I loathe American comedy, but this was rather palatable.

This is my family at the holidays, I swear.

*ow* I'm so sorry.

I don't think I've ever heard of the movie before. :S Oh, well. There used to be a White Castle on Rt. 40 near Hopkins, but that closed ages ago. I've never seen another one, in any other part of the country.

It's good for a laugh; not my usual thing, but it had its moments, and it steadied down after an opening a little heavy on the parody for my tastes.

There was one of those green-roofed burger huts in Wheaton for years, but it's long closed now. And my parents would never let us get food there!

Krystal? Have you been to a Krystal? White Castle's are very similar only better. We have neither here :( But when I travel, I look for them.

Normally I loathe American comedy, but this was rather palatable.

I adore you.

Never even heard of 'em, sorry. I don't remember so much as spotting one when we drove cross-country, but that was a long time ago.

Love you too! :P

This is one of my FAVORITE holiday movies. I adore the whole family. And yeah, you can tell he's so high, but still so good.

Glad you enjoyed it. :)

I'm not sure I have a favorite holiday movie...well, maybe Independence Day. *grin* But this one was fun.

Is that the one with Robert Downey Jr.? Yeah, I think that's it. There's also another movie with a title more or like that. Instead of an American family, it's a Puerto Rican family and I thought it wasn't "showed" or "presented" right. Since I'm Puerto Rican myself...

Yep, which is pretty much why I was watching it--when I hit on an interesting actor I tend to watch my way through their repertoire out of curiosity. Doing this with Paul McGann was an...interesting experience, to say the least.

Don't you hate it when they can't get the details right?
