December 17

Fandom: Iron Man
Prompt: none

He didn’t often get the chance, but when he did, it was savored. Jim Rhodes walked through the doors of the big bright church, trying not to disturb the ongoing hymn.

It was a family thing, the Wednesday night services, and he remembered them as a slow, reverent build-up to the magic of Christmas. And even though his family was far away now, it was good to go and remember, and celebrate.

Jim chose a free spot in the last pew as the acolyte lit the Advent wreath at the front, and smiled as he took up the song.

I'm loving all the moments from different fandoms and with different characters. And this is just one more to love. There's something about the quiet, hidden moments that appeal so much. Thank you for sharing!

That's what Advent feels like to me, too. Quiet anticipation. Not quite Lutheran-standard, but it works. :D Thank you!!
