Many thanks to those of you who have offered prompts already! I am letting the muse mull them over. But to begin, an old fandom but an excellent one.
As before, beneath a cut because an Advent calendar is about what's behind the doors (among other things).
Fandom: Beauty and the Beast (TV series, thank you!)
Prompt: none
Christmas Below is a time of joyful anticipation, of the rustling of colored paper and the whisper of delightful secrets. Gifts are simple but much valued, and there is great intrigue in the weeks leading up to the holiday.
But Father’s favorite part is the Advent wreath; the branches smuggled down from Above breathe winter and crisp fir, the candles smell of honey and light. For him, it is all the reverence of past years and the holiness of now, the knowledge that Christmas comes always and wherever.
He lights the first wick, and offers a silent prayer of thanks.

This especially:
the branches smuggled down from Above breathe winter and crisp fir, the candles smell of honey and light.
It so clearly evokes the otherness of the world Below.
Thank you for sharing this!
