Because [personal profile] cincoflex asked...

1--Total volume of music files on my computer:

Er…somewhere in the neighborhood of 20G, maybe? I don’t know for sure, because I’m at work at the moment, but I’m running out of room on my poor old laptop. Though quite a few of those are books on CD.

2--Last CD I bought:

The soundtrack to “The Last Unicorn”, for a friend.

3--Playing right now:

Nothin’ but doors closing.
4--Five songs that mean a lot to me:

Um, how to choose?

The Cal Berkeley Drinking Song, because I’ve been hearing it all my life and can sing it all--the ’63 version, that is. They’ve added some since.

Julia Ecklar’s “I Hate Little Firelizards”. Even though I don’t. *snerrrrrk*

Gonzo’s “I’m Going to Go Back There Someday”. Forget “The Rainbow Connection”--this is the Muppet song I love.

Nichole Nordeman’s “Every Season” always gives me lovely chills.

Cleo Laine and John Dankworth doing the “Turkish Delight” duet on the “Cleo at Carnegie: the 10th Anniversary” album. I’ve heard it live, which was an ecstasy, but this one is still my favorite, in part because it’s so much fun to hear the audience react. And now I have it on CD!

5--Five songs that can make me cry:

They don’t, generally. Maybe when I first hear one it’ll make me a little stuffy, but not on subsequent listenings. Probably the last one to get me was “Into the West” from “The Return of the King”.

6--My top TV soundtracks are:

Firefly, Beauty and the Beast: Of Love and Hope (now available on CD, folks! Go buy!), and CSI (just the instrumental bits). That’s all I have. Movies, now…

7--How I discover good music:

These days? Podcasts, mostly. Occasionally a rec from a friend, even more occasionally something I hear on the radio. Mostly I end up buying soundtracks, or new albums by artists I already listen to.

8--Tagging:

No one! Do it if you like. *grin*

Aww, the Last Unicorn!! I worshipped that movie as a child. I own it now :)

Oooh B&B is available on CD now?? Nice. Now I can listen to it when I go to bed again :) just like I used to.

Oh, do you have the vinyl album? I have it in my closet somewhere, but no working turntable at the moment.

I got B&B on tape. I had to flip it over to hear the other side, but that's only if I wasn't asleep yet.

Beauty and the Beast: Of Love and Hope (now available on CD, folks! Go buy!),

I'm so glad I was alone in the office when I read that. I actually squealed! LOL Now, if I can just wipe off this goofy grin before the guys get back from lunch...

Thanks for sharing that news. ::twirls and dances around the office::

Note to self...must make a Vincent icon.

Yeah, it seems to have been out for a bit, but I only discovered it by accident myself. Better news: Netflix has Season 1 listed. It's not available yet, and there is no listed availability date, but the mere fact that it IS listed--after all this time!--is cause for rejoicing...

You're killing me, here. You know that, right? ::twitch:: Oh, to have the series on DVD... ::twitch::

::le sigh::...Vincent... ::icon love::

Hey, I only just found out that the 1996 Doctor Who movie is available on DVD--but only in Europe, apparently. Still, it's listed on Amazon.co.uk at about ten pounds. *drool*
