Oh look, My First Drabble (TM)

I finally saw the ep at about six this morning, thanks to the good offices of the anonymous CTV viewer who promptly ignored legalities and uploaded it.

I have more to say, I think, but this'll do for starters.

The Inheritance

Ronnie wore it, even though it was a little too long and a smidge too tight, because it was a matter of pride. She’d heard the rumors and the reasons and the innuendo, but in the end they didn’t matter.

She didn’t know why Sara had left, not really; the only evidence she had was what she’d seen with her own eyes. Maybe Sara had burned out; maybe she had been right, and nothing they did made any difference.

But maybe not. Because with two words in smudged ink Sara had passed the torch on.

Ronnie wouldn’t let it fall.

Awwww...as much as I find Ronnie annoying, she does represent the enthusiastic idealism which hasn't seen too much yet...the very thing Sara finally had ripped to shreds.

Very hard to pick up and go on when you have an unvarished view of what lies ahead.

And behind.

Hopefully Ronnie will manage. And really, can't you imagine Sara being just like that ten years ago?

Not *quite* like that....

I liked your paragraph. It sums up Ronnie pretty well and shows that Sara still cares.
I'm glad that your dad taped it for you also. I get my Dad to do that for me also. He doesn't understand my obsession but he's a good sport about the whole thing. He didn't understand about Vincent in Beauty and the Beast either but he was always willing to record things for me. I see that your almost halfway in your writing. Good for you.
I hope that you have a great Thanksgiving. If I haven't said it before, thanks for all your wonderful stories. I was up reading until 4:00 the morning because I need some cheering up. At least the sory was open ended enough that almost anything can still happen. anne

Ooh, BatB--the good old days! I'm so glad they started releasing that on DVD. Do you have the "Of Love and Hope" album?

Glad the stories cheered you! I'm sure just about anything WILL happen, given time!

Sometimes, it's enough just to try. Ronnie...you go, girl!

But, Sara, my heart just aches for you right now.

Oh, mine too! It'll be interesting to see whether Ronnie shows up again--she's Swing, isn't she?

Congrats on your first drabble! Well done. I really liked that Sara did that. I too can see her being like that when she first started out. Maybe not quite as annoying but just as idealistic. Sigh. Keepin' the faith.

Heh, thanks! Sara was still thinking about hope even as she was leaving, I guess. Now we just have to wait for her to come 'round again...
