Criminal Minds 1:1

I think I've seen this one--I used to record the show for a friend in Australia--but it was some time back.

I am amused at Morgan quoting Yoda, and the Nietzsche quote at the end of course brings to mind the common addition "Neither of us liked what we saw."  Morgan comes across as a bit of an ass, though, and there's only a brief glimpse of Garcia, whom I love.  But first eps are always a bit rough.

I have a little trouble taking Gideon seriously, as I find his expressions a bit exaggerated, esp. when he does that frowny-face, but I think it stems in part from too much Princess Bride.  Poor guy, that's going to follow him forever, though it's by no means something to be ashamed of!

And Hotch is just pure eye candy.  *grin*

I can honestly say you don't realize what a jerk Gideon is until he's gone and Rossi comes in. And Hotch is eye candy. Smoking hot eye candy. Also, don't let Moran fool you - he's a jerk sometimes but he's really very soft. :) Hope you like it enough to keep going.

I don't find him a jerk yet, just kind of exaggerated, but jerkdom may come! Definitely a little too self-obsessed, though. *snerk*

My name is Inigo Montoya...

While I like Mandy Patinkin, I really don't care for the Gideon character (although he does have his moments)... I much prefer Joe Mantegna's Rossi, possibly because he's sort of cranky. I appreciate that in a guy :-)

Crankiness does have its subtle virtues! :D

I first started watching CM because of Mandy. I have to admit that Morgan got on my nerves to begin with. However, he grew on me. And I love the interaction between Morgan and Garcia.

The back-and-forth between those two always delights me, not least because Garcia never lets him run over her.

What [livejournal.com profile] smacky30 said. I get that the abrasiveness is part of the uniqueness of the Gideon character, but he doesn't really seem tuned in to me. And ITA on the Garcia thing...and what she was wearing in the first ep? Not Garcia-like at all!

Hope you stick with it!

I'm planning on it, for the moment at least.

It almost feels to me like they were trying to make Gideon the center, when all the chemistry was going for an ensemble show. But that's just my first impression.
