Chapter Two of Meander is now posted. It is Inception, Arthur/Ariadne, and rated PG-13.
This story started out as entirely Arthur's POV, but it was feeling a bit cramped, and besides I eventually realized I wanted one or two particular scenes to be from Ariadne's viewpoint. It's an interesting process, rewriting some scenes to flip them around, though on occasion I am sorry to lose a phrase or two. I don't think I'll keep up the alternating chapters, but that's how it salted out in the beginning.
I do like Miles. I kind of wish there was more of him in the film, and I'm dying to know just what he taught Dom and how. There's obviously a whole story there, with Mal and Dom too. And I would also love to know what the relationship between Mal and Arthur was like, given the remarkably ambiguous way he spoke of her. And how did Arthur and Dom meet...on and on...
What was Ariadne's motivation for moving to France? Or did she live there already? I'm thinking of whatever the filmmakers had in mind, not the reasons I've imagined. The movie is very heavy with symbolism for her.
Ariadne would make a good Companion for the Doctor.
