I am forging ahead with the new site.

Long-time readers have requested the reposting of a few stories that were only available on Light in the Mirror.  My updates are kind of random, but so far I have put up Breakfast at Grissom’s (CSI, GSR) and both parts of It (Iron Man, Tony/Pepper).

Please note that these are both NC-17 (which is why they weren’t on FF.net).

If there’s something else you want to see, drop me a note.  Ditto for AO3; I’m porting things over there gradually, and I must say that the download function is extremely useful.

Well, I've solved the biggest hurdle on my attempt at a new fic site.  Now, I may yet encounter one that makes me throw up my hands and quit Weebly, but for the moment I am going ahead on putting stuff back up.

So on that note, I will point out (for you long-time CSI/GSR fans) that Breakfast at Grissom's is posted again.  I don't think I'll be announcing every repost here, but a few of 'em were available nowhere but on my Light in the Mirror site, including this one, so for anyone who was looking for it...

Please note that it is rated NC-17.

...sheesh, one never knows with her.

I've posted a new short story, an inter-ep for the latest CSI episode "Under a Cloud".  If anyone out there is still watching the show, Traces of Contact is GSR and rated G.  I don't advise reading it if you haven't been watching.

A brief, unedited post-ep for The Two Mrs. Grissoms.  I'll post elsewhere when I'm not trying to keep my eyes open.

Just in case the above sentence is not obvious enough, SPOILERS!!!

True Minds )

P.S.  You know you've written too much fic when you have to check to see if you've used a title already...

Back in early 2005, when CSI was going through an unfortunate Sofia period*, I wrote an angsty little AU futurefic, tossing in some mutated characters from Prey just for fun (mostly because I've long thought that Vincent Ventresca would be the perfect actor to play Sara's brother).  It ended on a nice note of hope, I thought--because when do I write undiluted misery--and Rollercoaster was well-received in the GSR fandom.

I didn't think too much about it at first, but then WP1fan suggested a sequel, and I thought why not, since it obviously wouldn't be that much a longer story...

To reiterate, hah.

I still consider Halfway to the Moon to be one of my best longer works--and it is still the longest I've ever done, by over 65,000 words.  The reception for it was generous and enthusiastic, and I am forever grateful to the readers who cheered me on.  But having finished it and given Grissom and Sara their happy-ever-after, I wasn't motivated to do more.

And then a couple of years ago the muse opened a drowsy eye, tossed a tiny idea in my lap, and promptly went back to sleep as soon as I'd got a quarter of the way through the new one.  This week, she finally woke up again.

So here's the little coda, the proof that life keeps going into the ever-after (but don't let the banner mislead you.  Sara sticks by what she said).  Outrunning Gravity is brief, AU futurefic, GSR, and rated G.  It is also dedicated to [livejournal.com profile] cincoflex, because without her it--and the rest of this universe--would simply not exist.  ♥

*I have nothing against Sofia as a character; I just didn't like her messing with the GSR.

[livejournal.com profile] cincoflex and I decided to take up an idea that's been going around, and do an Advent calendar of drabbles for the season. Or, to be more precise, two calendars. Whether we will be able to keep it up for twenty-four days, in the teeth of real life, holidays, and whatever else, remains to be seen!

She's putting together a prompt table. I personally am choosing to do any fandom that takes my very fickle fancy. Given the shortness of such, I won't put them behind a cut unless there are spoilers (which is highly unlikely).

So, December 1:

Fandom: CSI/GSR
Prompt: cinnamon

It had been tricky, finding everything he wanted in the local markets, but Grissom was resourceful, and he hadn’t even had to order from overseas this time. His mother’s recipes were all memorized, and he was looking forward to celebrating the season in a new way.

The door opened, and Sara--pink-cheeked with cold--paused on the threshold of their little Paris apartment. He saw her eyes widen as she sniffed the sweet smells of cinnamon and ginger. “What’s the occasion?” she asked, smiling, eyes fixed on the cookies cooling on racks.

Grissom smiled back. “Christmas is coming, sweetheart.”

Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] cincoflex for a last-minute beta, and her patience! *grin* She did the banner, of course!
