(no subject)

Last night I fell asleep on my couch before supper, dreaming odd and vivid dreams, skimming just under the edge of sleep.  I finally forced myself awake so I could go outside and feed my ferals, and as I opened my apartment door--still half-asleep, it felt like--the young man in the stairwell made me an offer (at least, I think that was what it was) concerning the object he was holding. 

Which happened to be a duck.  A white, damp, still quite alive farm duck, resignedly held against his chest. 

Suffice it to say, I wasn't quite sure I was really awake at that point.

Somewhat odd question -- what is your avatar from? Because I know that picture, and I'm going nuts trying to think of where it's from!! Sesame Street, maybe? I watched a lot of Sesame Street when I was little...

Yep, Sesame Street! The typewriter would moomf to itself in a baritone voice and type out words.

There were certain bits on Sesame Street that were like crack to me when I was little. I'd go all slack-jawed and just stare in rapture. The typewriter was definitely one of them (probably because of the escher-esque quality of it all, but who knows)

I think we all had moments like that! The pinball scenes, for instance, were terrific.
