This chapter is a bit choppy, but sometimes they just won’t smooth out.
I like the idea of Arthur being uncertain of his leadership abilities. He seems to me to be the perfect second-in-command, able to make decisions but needing to follow someone. Taking charge like this has to be a new thing for him.
Ariadne’s objections to the outfit Arthur wants her to wear stem more, I admit, from my loathing Ariadne’s hairstyle in the second-layer dream than anything else. Dreadfully unflattering, that was.
