My boss (one of them) just came in to wish me a happy Administrative Professionals' Day and promise to take me out to lunch on Friday.  It quite boggled me, because though I've had the title of "secretary" for going on two years now, it never occurred to me to apply that sort of recognition to myself--not that I knew that was today anyway. 

I love her dearly, I appreciate the gesture, and I kind of wish she hadn't thought of it, because that sort of recognition makes me uncomfortable.  But I can hardly refuse. 

It's just one of those things that shifts my perception slightly.  It's probably good for me.

I wonder what would happen if Tony ever actually remembered this particular holiday... ;p

NO ONE has Pepper's organization skills. That level of passive-aggressive over-organization is clearly mutation...

I may someday regain Pepper's legs. If and when this baby returns my right to see my feet. :-)

Can't wait. Especially since Tony's one of those scary sorts with a wild imagination, a sick sense of humor, and trucks and trucks and trucks worth of 'who gives damn' money...

Not to mention someone as possesive as he is by nature doesn't appreciate anyone even looking at covetously, much less badmouthing what he considers his. :P

I like the guy in PK who keeps trying to recruit Pepper BTW, I laugh at the way Tony prickles up whenever he's as much as mentioned. I have a feeling there's a quiet but well established warning passed around at Stark Industries that essentiall says, "YEs she's smart and attractive. Don't even think it though. Just good to that woman, but never too good within eyeshot...unless you want your rear in a sling."

Go and enjoy the lunch. A good admin person can make or break an office. I have the utmost respect for the secretaries in the offices I worked in. They have to put up with all kinds of stuff and correct grammer and spelling etc. I hope you have a good time. anne

Ooh, editing is one of the things I like to do! I wish some people would let me check their e-mails before they sent them, for instance. But I don't handle a lot of admin chores, it's more sideline stuff.

Thanks! And yeah, it can be. For one thing, I didn't sign up for diplomacy. :P
