I am publicly doing vital overtime work, and privately sneaking glimpes at chapter 32. My gut reaction is that it’s wonderful. I’ve felt my heart strings tugged several times while reading, and that’s while being somewhat distracted. And it was posted on a European Wednesday (an extra treat for me)! I am a sucker for fluffy fun, and this is merveilleux. Merci bien!
Now that I've been re-united with the Internet at home...
There's nothing wrong with fluff, you know. It balances angst and other seriousness quite nicely.
I'm quite enjoying the little adjustments as they settled into life together. Two people fairly set in their ways...definitely going to be a few ups and downs. *g*
Their trip to the animal sanctuary was perfect. It really was the perfect place to take her. And the fact that he tends to check whether a restaurant has vegetarian cuisine...that is just so sweet.
This was a lovely interlude. Nicely done.
::hugs:: And I see there's another chapter up, so I'll get to that in the next day or so.
My itinerary...well, I guess that's really up to the people. Strikes and riots may cause alterations to the agenda...
In theory:
I arrive by train from Milan on May 15th @ around 1:30pm. I'll get settled and then head off to Montmartre and visit Sacre Coeur. Maybe even visit the Museum of Erotica... heh.
Tuesday and Wednesday are whatever I feel like doing. On my list is (aside from the Eiffel Tower...non, non, Tour Eiffel) is the Rodin Museum, Notre Dame to visit the kids (gargoyles), the Deportation Monument/Memorial, SHOPPING, Arc de Triomphe, Pere-Lachaise Cemetery...maybe the Catacombes...stroll along the Seine, or cruise the Seine...SHOPPING...Louvre...
Thursday morning at the crack of dawn is back on the train heading for Pontorson-Mont Saint-Michel. I have a room with a view of the bay waiting for me. I should get there around noon-ish, so I can spend the afternoon and early evening exploring. Friday morning, early I'm back on the train heading for Paris, and here's where timing gets tricky.
The train arrives in Paris around 1:30...and at the same platform, a train will leave at 2pm for Chartres. It is my hope that I get to Chartres. But if not...I've got a reason to come back, non?
Of course, all this is subject to the whims of rioters and strikers...
If you'd like a postcard from somewhere along my Italy-France odyssey, my email addy is in my profile...
