...Or, July 4th in the early hours of the 6th. Sorry, I was too tired to post that night, and I'll get to today tomorrow. I think. :P
P.S. You'll have to scroll down. I have no idea why LJ does that.
All in all, a wonderful day despite the drizzle. It wasn't cold. The food was quite good, though I've never had potato skins quite like those before; the company was of course excellent! We saw someone who was practically a dead ringer for David Tennant, and Laura figured out the intricacies of the El system for us. I bought something useless at the Tower and we laughed at the orientation video.
I didn't like the play--not just for its subject matter. The acting was great once they got settled in, but I didn't think it was well-written; the dialogue didn't always track and I don' t think real people behave like that. However, I never could take lit crit seriously and I know nothing about plays. It also annoyed me when the audience kept laughing at stuff that was pathetic rather than funny, but that's a personal quirk.
We didn't see Mr. Petersen afterwards; it was late and he'd stated somewhere or other that it wasn't the sort of role he liked to meet people after, if that sentence is at all comprehensible. Nice theatre, though; the seats were comfy even for me, for one thing.
We saw lots of fireworks here and there, over trees and through El windows, but we didn't see a show. I did have some glow bracelets, which were fun!
