Hubby works for the PO. There's a lot of crap going down. Every station in the nation has to lose one route because management promised rural carriers official vehicles instead of making them use personal vehicles. That means that carriers will lose their routes and they will either have to wait for something to come up for bid or they will have to move to another office. The really screwy thing? There are no new vehicles being built. A new batch was suppose to be hit the street in 2006, some how they never went into production. What's suppose to happen as the old vehicles they have been using for the last 15 years become unserviceable?
Good GRIEF. That's beyond stupidity. I remember the lady at my local PO telling me that they stopped doing surface mail because they couldn't guarantee that the packages wouldn't get broken into. Symptomatic, perhaps.
