Drivin' me nuts

vr_trakowskiI watched the latest ep of CSI:M on Tuesday. Grr. Way too much bikininess. Honestly, they could have cut the opening scene in half and substituted some actual plot! Do they think that the only people watching it are eighteen-year-old males? No offense to such males, of course, but I suspect the priorities of many watchers are a little different. Not to mention, apparently that spa is only open to gorgeous slender twenty-somethings? I can deal with rich, sure, but no one forty-something and slender? No one twenty-something and voluptuous? Honestly. It wasn't even a pretense.
And Horatio, you have no business messing around with Eric's sister. I've no objection to age gaps in general, but she is NOT your emotional equal, and my view of you as a stringently moral character is slipping badly. Not to mention, Eric is her BROTHER. You are just the boyfriend. Making him stay at a scene while you go to visit her in the hospital is bad, bad, bad. It is an abuse of your power as his boss and you definitely know better. Bad H, no bikini!
Marisol really doesn't look like someone sick enough to be using marijuana to offset chemotherapy-induced nausea--and what does she have, breast cancer or leukemia? I think both were attributed to her at different points.
I liked watching Calleigh. I always like watching Calleigh, as long as she doesn't go back to curling her hair again. And Wolfe is a blessing--he's almost Sidle-intense and isn't bad on the eyes either. And Alexx is always a riot. I like her very much, for her compassion, her brains, and her wit.
The plot was relatively clever, and for a moment there I thought Marisol had actually killed the guy they found in her apartment. And I admire H for covering for Wolfe--give him that, he's usually intensely supportive of his people (which is why the hospital thing shocked me). I suspect the writers are messing with his character.
Oh, and guys? Quit it with the screen-splitting thing. That is one of the fastest ways to throw me out of the plot and remind me that I am watching a TV show. If I want pic-in-pic I'll buy a TV that does it. It's just distracting--and it looks like you're suddenly doing the opener to The Brady Bunch or something. Sheesh.
