I looked up this evening and saw seven cranes flying by high overhead.  It made me wonder what seven cranes meant.

Then I thought, they don't mean anything.  They're just beautiful.

I have to agreee...sometimes things should be enjoyed for what they are, not what they might mean. *hugs*

For some reason I thought of Sara and 'sometimes a dying whale is just a dying whale. Sometimes seven cranes are just...beautiful. I'm a freak - I know it.

Flight of the Wild Swan

We have a flock of geese in the neighborhood that I love to watch and listen to as they fly overhead.

Thanks for posting this. I have a way of connecting images with music. Your post reminded me of a collection of New Age music representing fairy tales, A Childhood Remembered. The selection, The Flight of the Wild Swans, is wonderful.

I am going to have to pull it out today! Thank you!

Don't you just love the ripple effect?

Wish the tracks were online. I didn't get chance to find the disc yesterday. Perhaps today and I can upload the selection for you!

Cranes

With all of the beauty around us, isn't it sad when we don't take time to savor it. I'll bet cranes in flights were beautiful. The other night I was driving home from my nephew's right around dusk and the Sun was a bid dusty red hanging in a sky that held shades of blue pink, purple and a little Navy blue. It was beautiful and I'm glad that I could see it.
I believe that the Chinese consider cranes lucky. On that note I wish you lots of luck and lots of time to enjoy the gifts of beauty. anne

Ooh, sounds gorgeous! Thank you.

I wanted to make the people around me look, but none of them were open that way.

Cranes are beautiful - and you're making me nostalgic for all the ones that always lived on the lakes near where I grew up in MN. Though the geek in me feels the need to point out that in the Japanese culture, Cranes are thought to represent Wisdom, Life and Vitality. So seeing seven all at once is anything but a bad sign...assuming they weren't fleeing for their lives anyway.

Hee! I didn't see anything chasing them. There were a few where I went to college (or maybe they were herons) but we only saw them at night.

Ooh, neat. I've never seen more than one crane at a time, but they are beautiful. We have a manatee in the area, but it's never around when I go down to catch a glimpse of it.

Oh, now that is VERY cool. I didn't know they came this far north!

I didn't realize they came this far north, but this article claims they do. This is the first year that I remember it getting on the news.
