What are stories but imagination?

Snabbled from astrogirl2 because it sounded like fun:

Give me the title of a story I've never written, and feedback telling me what you liked best about it, and I will tell you any of: the first sentence, the last sentence, the thing that made me want to write it, the biggest problem I had while writing it, why it almost never got posted, the scene that hit the cutting room floor but that I wish I'd been able to salvage, or something else that I want readers to know. 

Anybody else?

What a delightful story! Of course there had to be angst but man, that plot twist at the end was pure genius! As usual it was a joy to read, perfect characterization... so much so I could hear them talking as I read. Thank you for this!

*laughter* So glad you enjoyed it! I was soooo tempted to make that one a character death, but you know I promised. I did write it out for my own satisfaction, but it'll never be posted.
