He’d let Grissom get away with the mistletoe, and the rest of the lab decorations were traditional, but they gave Conrad no joy. Christmas was depressing for someone with no family. Sometimes he felt like there was nothing in his life but endless work.

Grissom's office was empty; he decided to wait, leaning against the doorframe and closing his eyes in a moment of pure weariness.

The soft kiss on his cheek made him start. Judy, on her tiptoes, blushed and gestured up. "Merry Christmas, Mr. Ecklie," she said quickly, and bolted.

The warmth in his chest felt like ...wonder.

Awwwww... Judy is so sweet. I bet his face showed more than he realized and Judy just gave in to impulse and... *g* It's the holidays - everyone should be loved, even if only for a moment.
