Thank you, boubabe14, for today's prompt!  I admit I would have expected a GSR request from you, but I had fun with this one.  *grin* 

Fandom: Star Trek (original series)
Prompt: Kirk taking Spock and McCoy to Iowa for a midwestern Christmas



“I fail to see the point of this exercise when there are safer, nonpolluting sources of heat available,” Spock said, hands behind his back. 

Bones, standing out of range of the chips flying from Jim’s axe, snorted.  “The hell you do.”  He sipped his spiked coffee. 

Jim paused for breath, grinning.  “Call it tradition, Spock.  A fire in the fireplace engages the senses and enhances the recall of pleasant memories.” 

“Plus, it’s warm,” Bones pointed out. 

Spock’s tone hinted at resigned amusement.  “I will fetch the marshmelons.  Will there be…’carols’?” 

Jim and Bones exchanged glances.  “No singing,” they chorused. 



I apologize for referring to the Movie That Shall Not Be Named.  But hey, I couldn't resist the fit.

Well, I actually wanted GSR, but thought you might appreciate a change of pace to harken back into the first fandom that went viral oh so many years ago. I shall not tell Santa you actually referenced the "Movie That Shall Not Be Named", however I will keep it for future possible blackmail.

Thank you for giving me Kirk, Iowa and the rest of the unforgettable Triumvirate. They are timeless :-)
