“It’s always goblins and never, ever, Christmas,” the King said impatiently.
Sarah snickered. “I don’t think they got the memo.”
Below their balcony, the Goblin City was swarming. Ivy garlands were tossed over spires like quoits; chains of lights spelled out rude words. Sarah didn’t know what the goblins were doing with the mistletoe, but it was making her blush.
“Do you approve, my lady?” Sir Didymus shouted up hopefully, and she laughed and waved, and didn’t bother to point out that the huge tree in the square was upside down.
Behind her, Jareth’s mouth curved in a reluctant smile.
