First off, let me say that I adore Firefox.  I like it much better than Safari and oodles more than that useless box called IE (any time I have to check off three dialogue boxes just to open a page is one more blow against it).  So I was looking forward to upgrading to Firefox 4.

Well, bleah.  I can't get the bookmarks toolbar to show up without re-enabling it every time I open the app, even though it's already checked.  And I'm trying to upgrade Xmarks, except that every time I try to download it Firefox gives me a little pointer-with-instructions that points to nothing.  "Click Allow", my left hind foot.

I'm going back to the previous version until they get the bugs worked out.  Which they were supposed to have done by now.

Hmph.

Wil Wheaton mentioned issues with FF4 right after download, but he said completely re-setting it fixed the issues he was having. Give it a shot?

Thanks, but reset it how? I'm not good at these things. *shrug* I can wait.

Yeah, I have no clue. :) I looked and there's no 'default settings' button. I still prefer Chrome. I use Firefox as a back up browser.

I had so many issues with Firefox that I had to ditch it entirely and go with Google Chrome. Love, love, love Google Chrome.

I loaded FF4 and the latest upgrades...managed to live with it for about a week. Then I shook my head and downloaded 3.6.15 and reinstalled it (be sure to back up your bookmarks before you do this) and I'm staying with it until it looks like 4 gets more consistent.

I have to admit to having too many problems with Firefox working with some of the busier sites I would go to. This was years ago and I've never really given it another shot. I use Safari almost exclusively and have never had a problem.
