vr_trakowskiThis is a weird little AU Iron Man idea I've been kicking around for a couple of years; there's more in my head, but at this point I'm unlikely to get it down. It does have something of a character death, so keep that in mind. It's PG-13 and Tony/Pepper.

This is a story more about Tony than anything else; another one along the lines of how will he react if I poke him like this? It also owes much to Heart of the Comet, by Gregory Benford and David Brin--I lifted one idea practically wholesale, because it was just so cool.
It’s not a very practical story, of course, there’s a lot of hand-waving, but then much of Iron Man is like that already.
The most recent movie had wheels on at least one of the ‘bots instead of treads, but I find that silly, so I stuck with my assumption.
The rest of the plot in my head covers decades, which I almost never do, and gets even wilder. Ah well.
The title is awkward, but should be fairly obvious.
