Brain candy?

So I watched Chocolat.  


Fairly predictable, up until the end, though by no means unpleasant.  Some very lovely faces to look at--I knew I'd seen the priest somewhere before--and of course Dame Judi Dench is always a pleasure.  Not my usual stuff, but fun.  

The end kept making me laugh, in a good way.  But I was a little disappointed that they didn't go the route of having Vianne join Roux on his boat.  It would have been the perfect solution, traveling while still keeping a home for Anouk.  Josephine could have run the shop.

I have a fondness for Chocolat not just because Johnny Depp is pretty or because of the chocolate!Porn but also because Anouk always struck a chord with me.

For about the first third of the movie I expected her to grow up and the story to continue with her as an adult (mix-up with another film). Why does she resonate with you?

I saw it without knowing JD was in it,so he was a delightful surprise. I loved Anouk's kangaroo sightings.
