Just under the wire!

A Christmas to Remember, Amy Grant, A Christmas to Remember

I admit, I'm more in love with the tune than the words on this one, but it's still a sweet song.  All about anticipation, which--as [personal profile] jeanniemac  pointed out--is part of Advent.

Setting our [?] hopes on a big snow tonight/We'll wake up to a world of white  I think I've experienced a white Christmas about three times in my life; in this area it doesn't usually snow much until January (last year being a notable exception).  I used to wish it would, really hard; even now, I think it would please me, so long as it wasn't heavy enough to keep everyone from church/visiting/etc.

Come to that, it occurs to me that my parents may not be attending the Christmas service this year, due to church problems I'm not going to detail here.  I would be sad if that turns out so; for me, the services on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are an essential part of the whole celebration, even if I don't usually manage to make it to regular Sunday services.  But going on my own wouldn't be the same at all.  Well, I won't borrow trouble yet.

There have been a couple of years when Christmas was warm enough for us to attend church wearing sweaters rather than coats.  I found this somewhat unnatural, but that's just me.  *grin*  Very Northern-hemisphere-centric, though I suppose the folks in Florida might disagree...
