Joy to the World, Jim Brickman, The Hymns and Carols of Christmas
Normally I think of this hymn as a fierce, joyful, loud one--the perfect song for a Christmas service recessional, for instance, with everyone singing strongly and enjoying themselves. It lends itself to definite praise.
But Mr. Brickman turns it into a quiet, thoughtful piece that is equally delightful--just quieter. He has several versions, but this is, I think, my favorite.
