Sometimes I could kick the muse out the window.  I'm writing Harry Potter fanfic, heaven help me.  No, I'm not going to post it, it doesn't even have a plot--it's just a couple of concepts I wanted to work through, including a perfectly logical reason Snape could survive the events of Deathly Hallows without violating canon.  

But still.  HP fic.  Me.  Over 3,500 words since last night.  It's not as bad as that PotO stuff, granted, but... 

Send help.  Please.

Really? It seems ridiculously obvious to me, but since I don't generally read HP fic (Naked Quidditch Match being a notable exception) I don't know how often it's been done before.

ETA: Sorry, it occurred to me that this could read as insulting, and I don't mean it that way at all--I'm just assuming that I'm not the only person who saw it. Maybe it's only my particular cockeyed squint. *grin*

No problem - I'm not really a huge HP fan and don't read their fic, but Alan Rickman, on the other hand... I'll watch just about anything with Alan Rickman in it.

I'm sure plenty of people have though up ways of getting Snape out alive, though I'd bet your take would be unique :-)
