Snabbled from [personal profile] cincoflex  and I don't know who all (with a slight modification)...

Post the first sentence (or three) from every WIP you're currently working on, even if it's very short. Then invite people to ask questions about your WsIP. With any luck, the motivation to take that WIP one step closer to completion will appear as if by magic!

I'm not working actively on so much these days, though my muse is apparently not done with the HP universe.  I'm throwing a couple of these in for fun and they're not all first sentences.   But if anyone wants to comment, feel free.

“I still don’t understand.”

Lily rolled her eyes.  “I already told you.  I messed up.  I wished for Tuney to disappear, and she did.”

There was someone in his study.

Slowly, Severus lowered his book.  None of his wards had gone off, so odds were the presence was benign; nonetheless, he had a hex ready to speak, paranoia being one of the reasons he’d survived to the present day.

*

The snow swirling past was almost pretty in the headlight’s feeble beam--an endless rushing confetti, silent and sparkling.  Ariadne watched it blankly, unable to concentrate on anything more, her head still spinning and her ears ringing from the crush of sound.

*

I don’t really remember how old I was when my mom made me go see a shrink for the first time.  Eleven or twelve, maybe.  It was the thing then to make sure your kid was “psychologically healthy”--I don’t know why, nobody had started shooting all their classmates yet.

*

Sara shook her head as they peered down into the underground vault.  “How many of these things are there around here?”

Grissom shrugged, and flicked on his handlight.  “Probably more than the planning database shows.”

*

“You saved my life, you know,” he said, looking up at her as she unlocked her front door.  “In some cultures, that means it now belongs to you.”

“And you saved mine,” she pointed out with tolerant amusement, swinging it wide and stepping through so he could enter.  “All of you.  Besides, they saved you too.”

“Team saves don’t count,” he said, wheeling after her as she emptied her pockets and kicked off her shoes, dumping her bag in the closet.  “We have a karmic equilibrium agreement.”

Pepper was on the couch when he emerged, working on her laptop despite the late hour.  He was glad to see that she’d changed out of her suit, though; she was wearing slacks and a t-shirt with something printed on the front.  Tony circled around the couch until he could get a good look, and read it out loud.

“The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has determined that the maximum safe load capacity on my butt is 2 persons at one time unless I install handrails or-
-lower your arms, Potts--safety straps.  As you have arrived 6th in line to ride my ass today, please take a number and wait your turn.”  He laughed.  “Where the hell did you get that?  I want one.”

*

It was not a case to which I looked forward.  Traveling in autumn is better far than in winter, but the ocean air was damp and raw, bringing forth the old ache in my leg.

Still, Holmes would go, with me or without, and so I went, for I could not turn him down when he asked.  And it was a romantic prospect--a princess abducted from her homeland by villains, swept away on her wedding night and leaving her bridegroom helpless and heartbroken.

*

“Where the hell are we?”

Loki looked around at the trees, which stretched high overhead and blocked out most of the sky.  “Nowhere where she can hear you, mortal, fortunately for you.”

Tony let his helmet flip open and didn’t dignify the comment with so much as an eyeroll.  He’d gotten more or less used to Asgardians over time, but the superiority complexes still got on his nerves.  If anyone was going to be superior, it was going to be him, dammit.

Separately, it has been gently pointed out to me that I've been less than gracious in my responses to folks' enthusiasm about my venture into HP fandom.  I do apologize!  I didn't expect anyone to be interested, but that's no excuse.

Hee, some of these are familiar, and some aren't, but I'm intrigued by them all! Keep going, please!
