This is crack!fic.  A quick Sherlock crossover about Molly, who needs a shoulder--or other appendage--to lean on.  Explanation and ~spoilers!~ below the cut.

I freely admit that one must probably be of a certain age and range of nationalities to get this one.

The first time I saw Molly's last name I immediately thought of Mr. Hooper from Sesame Street, as I'm old enough to remember him.  The connection was a close thing; she is almost too young.  But if she was 31 in 2010, when Sherlock began, she would have been about three or four when Mr. Hooper died.

For those of you not familiar with that particular time period, Mr. Hooper was the shop owner on Sesame Street.  When Will Lee, who played him, died at the end of 1982, the show filmed an episode to acknowledge and discuss his death in a way fitted for its very young audience.  I haven't see the episode, but it was extremely well received.

I envision the Sesame Street neighborhood as a place welcoming to those who once dwelt or visited there, even if they've grown up in the meantime.  Molly seems very alone; if she needed comfort, why not go where it would be offered without stint?

Mr. S is Mr. Snuffleupagus, who is a Muppet based on a woolly mammoth.  His trunk is more usually known as his snuffle, but I know if I used that word people would be even more confused.  "Bird" is what he calls Big Bird, and Herry is Herry Monster, another Muppet.  All three have been around more or less since the beginning of Sesame Street.
