It only took years

vr_trakowskiThose of us who post fanfic occasionally find that a story we are particularly proud of can be of little interest, while conversely something hastily scribbled can be quite popular. I posted one story last week on three different sites and have received no comments whatsoever on it. It's the first time this has happened in eleven years, and I kind of expected it the last time.
Granted, it's a pairing with a small fandom and it's a crossover, which makes it weirder; and I did get a kudo on AO3, which was nice. No one's under obligation to read anything, let alone comment. But I confess myself disappointed. I thought I did a decent job with it.
Oh well, I had fun writing it, to be sure. *shrug* And it's not like my readers haven't been consistently generous and kind, all along!
Those of you on the storm track, hatch your battens, bat your hatchings, and keep your heads down. I'm staying home to guard my books.
