Sep. 6th, 2007 10:10 amI've seen four different promos for next season now, and a handful of photos, and it appears that the CSIs are digging out the car at some point, or trying to dig into the ground around it.
Anybody having flashbacks to "Crate 'n Burial"?
I'm probably overinclined to find such parallels in episodes--I don't really believe that the writers of "Fallen Idols" were thinking of "Butterflied" when they put together the shaving scene. With a show this long there's bound to be some reiteration.
But still--a woman trapped underground in the desert, with time and air running out. Grissom in a helicopter. Digging to rescue the victim. Even coyotes.
"Crate 'n Burial" also marked a change in Sara's relationship with Grissom ("I keep trying to be your star pupil"). And, in a sense, with the rest of the CSI team, as this is the first time we see her there to stay now that the Holly Gribbs case is closed. We even see Grissom touch her in a nonprofessional way. "Living Doll" and "Dead Doll" mark changes for the team as well--they're learning more about the GSR, things are shifting again. And Grissom's behavior at the car certainly doesn't seem detached and professional.
In fact, these two episodes also share some similarities to the first two eps of the show--a team member in deadly danger, guilt and fear.
I just have to wonder how much attention they're paying over there!

Date: 2007-09-06 02:51 pm (UTC)Sheesh, that's Greg? I'll have to watch the promo again, not that they give more than half a second of anything, seems like. Or tell things true--I figure the bits with Sara underwater are imaginings, not actual happenings. *shrug* Three weeks to go...
