You know, one of the things that impresses me most about this episode is that we were right.  We were right about Sara’s courage, and Grissom’s heart; about how Nick would feel, and what Hodges would do.  Of course, we knew that, but it’s good to see it become canon before our eyes, to know that for this time at least the writers perceived them as clearly and truly as we do.

And it’s finally canon that Grissom’s first name is, actually, Gilbert.  *snerk*  Imagine if they’d called him Bertie instead…

As for next week--I can just hear Sara now.  “Nine years, Gil?  Wanna tell me how I missed that?”  With the raised brows and the skeptical look that’s about to melt into a grin.  Plus, another severed head…I guess it’s true, whenever these two get together, heads do roll…

Two notes: 1, [livejournal.com profile] cincoflex , you were right, it’s a shirt rather than a jacket; 2, [livejournal.com profile] bunchofgrapes , not nearly enough Brass but at least we got to see him with the coat off, if not the sleeves rolled up.  And Jimmy my boy, nice car!  *grin*  Blackjack’s treating you well?

I was so tense last night that I made my son leave the house while I watched this episode. (He is a CSI fan but not as nutso over the show as I am). We have tivo and I always record the show so he wasn't going to miss the episode. I told him that I didn't want anyone laughing at my reaction if Sara died so he went out with his friends. I have to say that I think that this was one of the best episodes of the whole show. Everyone acted just like I felt that they would and shoud and except for the churning stomach the whole show was great. And you're right, we fans knew how the characters would react. Man, I so love Brass. He wasn't on for very long but he added just the right spice to the story. I'm just one happy camper today. Many thanks to you and all the other talented fan writers for keeping me semi-sane this summer. anne

Wasn't he great, though? *grin* I agree with you, it was a stunner of an ep--I just wish it had been longer, actually, because then we could have seen more of people's reactions. I shared it with a friend by long-distance and that was great.

Glad you liked the stories! ;)

You know, a thought did occur to me - it happens sometimes, I can't stop it...

We're assuming that the "two years" and "nine years" are the answers to the same question, and it does seem probable, with Ecklie's comment of getting their story straight, but - it's possible that perhaps two years is the answer to when they became intimate, and nine years is the answer to something else - when they became friends, or some such?

Now that I see it in writing, it's lamer than in my head, but - there it is.

You could be right, yeah--and previews are notorious for building false expectations. But it's fun to watch and laugh now. :D Poor Ecklie!

Believe me, I'm hoping it's the way we're seeing it, just because it's so perfect!

Hmmm... I was thinking the same thing actually... I figure the 2 years is when they became intimate, 9 years is when they met, and getting their stories straight was because Sara tried to take all the blame (credit?) for going against the supervisor rule during her interview and Grissom tried to take the blame (credit?) during his interview...

However... It would be really funny if that was the answer to the same question... Guess we'll find out soon! :-)

Alas, yes! I think we got a bit cheated there.
