“Well, I’m pretty sure I don’t make you sad.”
“No, you make me happy.”
Happy? Happy didn’t even begin to cover it.
Try stunned, elated, awed. Frightened. Smug.
Thankful.
The first time they’d slept together Grissom had crossed his fingers and hoped that Sara would forgive him. Age theoretically gave him more staying power, but it had been ten years, most of which Sara had spent turning him on in one way or another, and only sometimes on purpose. Grissom figured he’d last about long enough to prevent complete humiliation, but that Sara was going to have to be patient with him.
What he hadn’t taken into account was how much he turned her on.
Oh, he knew she thought him handsome, intellectually anyway; but the body of his youth, which had on occasion brought him more attention than he was strictly comfortable with, had disappeared, melting into someone stockier, greyer, and softer. She’d come twice more before their first, hasty lovemaking was over, leaving him reeling with astonishment as well as pleasure, and several times again before the day was through. And later she had given him the heady gift of casually mentioning that she’d never been multiorgasmic before.
