As promised, I've begun posting Down to Sleep, which is the story I started for my NaNo.  This is an idea that I've wanted to explore for some time; it's been done before, but not (to the extent of my knowledge) in this form.  It's gonna be dark and angsty, and if you choose to read be warned that it includes the nongraphic deaths of children.

I want to mention here, since I forgot to do it in the story comments, that [personal profile] cincoflex  also gave me the title for this one.  Sometimes titles come to me, and sometimes they don't; she came up with the absolutely perfect one this time.

And I also want to note that it was [profile] laura27md 's lovely homemade chai mix that got me awake enough to post it before work!  *grin*  Delicious.

Hi, the link doesn't work for down to sleep.

I love your stories, by the way! Frideswide's dream was particularly lovely.

Wow, I'm just not handling links well today! Thanks for letting me know, it's fixed now.

Glad you like my stuff! :D I had fun with Frideswide.

I just read the first chapter and it is good. I became involved in the plot line immediately. Now thursdays will be special again even with the writers strike. Do you think it would help if we,as fans wrote to the powers that be,telling them to settle? I think that what the writers are asking for is very fair. anne

Glad you like it! Off to a slow start, but it'll pick up after a few chapters.

It might, one never knows! Certainly they know we're out here. And yeah, I think the writers should have gotten what they're asking for long ago.

I found the story yesterday, and it definitely is off to a good start. The subject is dark, but you're handling it in a way that isn't gory or sensational.

Thank you--getting a review from YOU is always an honor! :D Prepare for more darkness...

D'oh! I am so behind in my reading and reviewing I must look like a fic snob. I really do leave reviews for everything I finish (if it's a really bad story, I don't finish), but I just don't have a lot of time to read.

Oh, I'm behind too, same problem. What I meant though was that you're one of the cornerstones of GSR fic, one of the first and best writers. Getting a review from you is extra-special.

And so thank you, very much, for the PM about "The Heart of the Woods". I meant to answer and haven't yet, but you definitely made my day! *hearts*

Gah. I never know how to reply when someone says that. I just don't get it. There's nothing special about my stories. It's not like my stuff is all that popular. Hell, the last three WIPs I did were at the request of "friends" who couldn't even be bothered to read them.

The more fools they, then!

At the risk of being annoying, I'll insist that your stories are still the cream of the crop--rich and powerful, challenging and clever. When I first started reading CSI fic, you and Burked and LSI were the giants of the genre, and while there are many good writers out there now, to me yours are still gems. And I know Cincoflex agrees with me. Maybe we're the only ones who do now (though I doubt it), but we pride ourselves on knowing excellent writing when we read it.

How about I'm dying of embarrassment? :S The mind boggles. It really does.

Thanks for the kind words, though.

I'm just going to step in here and second VR's comment here! I love your writing and have reread many of your stories over and over and over and... er I'm not a psychotic stalker, really. I didn't really get into CSI until mid fifth season, but once I was hooked, I immediately went back and watched all the eps and read the classic fanfic. Your stories are definitely in that category. Course I read a lot of them so long after their original write date that I wasn't sure if/how to review, so I just sat quietly... but I'll take this opportunity to say: I love them!

Because of you, I will never think of bears in the same way, I have this great image of a geriatric stripper that pops into my head periodically, and I will be careful never to contemplate infinity too hard... Your stories (and VR's for that matter) are among my favorites to return to when I need a break from RL or from the current state of CSI and the writer's strike, Sara being gone, etc... Don't sell yourself short!

Thanks, really, it's . And trust me on the infinity thing. It's freaky.

I've been reminiscing the past few days, reading older stories and I saw you name and though I would browse through and reread one of your older fics (I probably still will!!!) and noticed that you had a new WIP up. It's been awhile since I've read recent CSI fics by the people that have been around here for a long time. I am looking forward to how this case is going to affect Sara...and what it will mean for her return and her relationship with Grissom. As always, awesome job pulling me right in...luckily tomorrow is Thursday too! PS Twelfth Night is also wonderful...so short and to the point and exactly what we all want around here. :-)

Glad you're enjoying it--and that you liked Twelfth Night! :D Fasten your proverbial seatbelt, 'cause it's gonna get angsty.

I am still highly amused by your icon.
