As promised, I've begun posting Down to Sleep, which is the story I started for my NaNo. This is an idea that I've wanted to explore for some time; it's been done before, but not (to the extent of my knowledge) in this form. It's gonna be dark and angsty, and if you choose to read be warned that it includes the nongraphic deaths of children.
I want to mention here, since I forgot to do it in the story comments, that
cincoflex also gave me the title for this one. Sometimes titles come to me, and sometimes they don't; she came up with the absolutely perfect one this time.
And I also want to note that it was
laura27md 's lovely homemade chai mix that got me awake enough to post it before work! *grin* Delicious.

Date: 2008-01-17 05:55 pm (UTC)At the risk of being annoying, I'll insist that your stories are still the cream of the crop--rich and powerful, challenging and clever. When I first started reading CSI fic, you and Burked and LSI were the giants of the genre, and while there are many good writers out there now, to me yours are still gems. And I know Cincoflex agrees with me. Maybe we're the only ones who do now (though I doubt it), but we pride ourselves on knowing excellent writing when we read it.

Date: 2008-01-24 06:05 am (UTC)Because of you, I will never think of bears in the same way, I have this great image of a geriatric stripper that pops into my head periodically, and I will be careful never to contemplate infinity too hard... Your stories (and VR's for that matter) are among my favorites to return to when I need a break from RL or from the current state of CSI and the writer's strike, Sara being gone, etc... Don't sell yourself short!
