Another drabble

Sleep Dep
The call had been brief. “How long?”
Pepper had sighed. “Four days.”
“I’m on my way.”
As Jarvis let him in, Rhodey ducked past the Christmas lights that covered the front of the house (it was June) and found Pepper on the long couch, tapping resignedly on her laptop. The place smelled...funky. The windows were flashing scenes from South Pacific, Alien, and Metropolis.
Butterfingers sailed past, wearing several plastic leis. The boombox he held was blaring a version of I Feel Pretty remastered to a grotesque baritone.
Rhodey sighed. “Ready?”
Pepper picked up a wrench. “Ready.”
They headed downstairs.
