I finally watched the CSI premiere. 



...What? 

The funeral thing was so bizarre and over the top I thought it was a dream too.  Not to mention, it looks like they borrowed CSI:M's writers for this one.  Catherine's spewing nonsense, the bomb expert is a clone, the Marine's wife is a cliche, and Brass is just--what??  Really?  

Though points for actually remembering Warrick, Brass being in the service, and Brass being the odd man out at someone's funeral...and Ms. Piggy.  And Sara punching someone out.

Exactly. He was part of the team for six years, then they completely alienated him. Now it seems like they're trying to bring him back into the fold but he's not the same Brass. He's lost his snark, his spark, and his buddy. And if they try to make him out to be the bad guy with this whole Catherine thing, so not cool.

Btw, I think this does sort of highlight how well PG and WP played off each other because Brass seemed to lose a lot of his mojo when Grissom left. He used to snark with Grissom. Now he just bends over backwards to kiss up to Ray.

I didn't think of it that way, but it makes complete sense--with Grissom gone he's lost a friend, even if they haven't been much together in recent years. Wow.

Yeah, what she said :-) Although I miss the GSR, I miss the Brass/Gris interaction almost as much. I loved the way their characters evolved together.
