Chapter Nine of Meander is now posted. It is Inception, Arthur/Ariadne, and rated PG-13.
Again,
cincoflex straightened out this chapter for me, for which I am profoundly grateful. And she made the banner--isn't it gorgeous? *grin*
Yes, the chapter title is extremely obscure. So what? *grin*
I never seem to let these people off of planes, do I? Good grief.
I have no idea if the dream-flipping here is possible within the context of the science, but hey, it’s not like they explained how it worked or anything. *eyeroll* One of the more fun things about writing in this fandom is how much possibility the dreamworlds present. Which is an idea I am pursuing more deeply elsewhere.
Please tell me you get the “symbolism”!
I had the third dream-scene in my head almost from when I started writing this one. It’s probably Arthur’s outfits; the suspenders just seem to suggest that era. And Ariadne would look gorgeous in that color. However, I leave the hat’s exact details to the reader’s imagination.
I did not pull the figure of two years since Mal’s death out of thin air. The film credits list the ages for the two versions of the kids (did you even notice that the dream ones are younger than the ones at the end? I didn’t) and there is a two-year difference, so.
