Production notes for Palmer's Kiss

This story wasn't supposed to be this long, and when I started I wanted to see if I could do it entirely from Tony's POV and still have it make sense. So you'll have to be the judge of whether I succeeded, because I'm bloody-minded stubborn sometimes.





If you think you recognize the artist, you're probably right--and I expect at least one of you to know him. *grin* Yes, I know, but I don't think there's anyone left to mind if I borrow him for a little while.






*evil grin* You trust me, don't you? Yes, the boat names are jokes; one should be fairly obvious, but the other is truly obscure, so don't strain your brain.

Cincoflex must have slogged through three or four versions of this chapter, and she still talks to me anyway. ;) Thank you, dearest.

And props to Black.b3rry for figuring out the joke in the yacht's name! Yes, flip "Y Not?" around and you get "Tony".

This chapter is dedicated to my sister-in-love, who not only introduced me to the term Tony uses, but shares his opinion thereof, if not for the same reasons.

Additional disclaimer: I've never been to Orcas Island. I tried to match reality to a decent degree, but don't take my word for anything.

For those of you who asked, "palmer's kiss" is taken from Romeo and Juliet, wherein the protagonists flirt about hands. "Palmer" is an old word for pilgrim, as in the religious journeying type; in this case, Juliet and Romeo are punning on "palm" to go from holding hands, to kissing hands, to actually kissing. Since hands played such a large part in this story, and I love my obscure titles...there you go.

Cincoflex encouraged, admonished, cheered, shored up, and in all ways made this story possible. I've been writing it since last autumn; you'd think she'd get tired of it, but she soldiered on! *wink* Thank you, love.
