Walking Dead = Zombie Soap Opera.
The acting's sterling, the special effects fittingly nauseating, the writing spotty. Having blown through both seasons, I find myself shaking my head over how many tricks these people are missing.
The dead can't climb. Hammocks! Platforms! Tree houses!
Can the dead swim? I seriously doubt it. Islands! Houseboats!
Not to mention, they drove away from the highway site leaving behind the supplies.
Seriously, people. You keep talking about thinking in survival mode, but you're stuck in the same old patterns.

Date: 2012-08-17 11:08 pm (UTC)I just discovered that the Kolchak, The Night Stalker series (the original) is on Youtube. We used to stay up late watching this show back when I was a kid, and we loved it. In some ways, it doesn't hold up well. It's not scary, but some of it is still very unique. I'm trying to get through "The Werewolf" episode now, and while it's considered one of the best, the cheesy 70's swingers annoy me to no end! :D

Date: 2012-08-20 10:42 pm (UTC)Richard Matheson was involved with the original 2 Kolchak TV movies (both on Youtube) but I don't think he had anything to do with the series. I know the first one was the most watched TV movie in history at that point.
If you get a chance, you should watch some of it. The writing is incredible at times - Kolchak and his boss had some of the best exchanges! It helped that both actors were excellent.
