I've had a cold since last Saturday (more than a week ago).  A day of mild fever, then sneezing and fatigue and a runny noes.  Fine, I haven't had a cold since Provence last year, I'm probably due.

Yesterday I started coughing, which really wears me out, and the cough suppressant wasn't working as well as I hoped.

Today I was exhausted (not enough sleep when one wakes up coughing) but I felt so bad that I barely made it home, and my poor ferals got dry food and just a few pats.  Now I'm running a 101-degree fever, I have the chills whenever I stand up, and I cannot stop coughing despite a full dose of suppressant.

Bloody heck, I think I have the flu.  It's only been, oh, almost ten years.  November '99.

I'm surprised I'm coherent enough to type this, given that one of my symptoms of exhaustion is aural hallucinations.  But then, I'm having to backspace more than usual.

So--don't expect to hear much from me (unless, which I devoutly hope, I'm wrong).  I'll try to get Down to Sleep up on Thursday but no promises.  *sigh*

You all stay well, now.

I'm horribly late with my reply but I wonder if you don't have the same crud that's been going around...everywhere. It comes with fever, sneezing, sore throat, fatigue but the worst is the cough. It stays with you for weeks. I got it in early November after picking it up from a hacking passenger on the flight to Vegas. I thought it was the flu at first but for me the sore throat didn't go away until I took antibiotics (mine went into strep).

Anyway, get lots of rest and even if you start to feel better, don't think you *are* better and start to do to much. Get well!
